At Trinity Pest Management, our signature service is our all-inclusive quarterly service. All basic insects are covered and guaranteed under this plan. Providing a full service to the inside of your home, as well as, the outside and attics every three months has proven itself time and time again to be the most economical and effective method of providing complete control of your pest problems.
Let's look at a few of the problems we face here in north Texas.
Ants
These pesky creatures are, by far, the number one reason for service calls in our area.
There are many species of ground ants including Argentine ant, Little Black ant, Odorous House ant, Pharaoh ants and the Imported Fire ant. These ant species are social insects that live in colonies or nests, which contain egg-laying queens, the young or larvae, pupae, and many worker ants. The workers, all sterile females, care for the colony as well as search for and bring food to the nest. In the spring or fall, ant colonies may produce winged males and female that fly out, mate, and have the ability to start a new colony. Ants require a large amount of moisture for their colony to thrive. Ever wonder why you see ant mounds after a rain? The Red Imported Fire ants was actually introduced by accident in the 1930's in Mobile, AL and now infest more than 300 million acres of land.
Cockroaches
Cockroaches can be split into two groups: domestic and peridomestic. Domestic cockroaches live their entire lives inside homes or buildings. The main domestic cockroach we deal with in our area is the German cockroach. This is the small roach we typically associate with restaurants, day care facilities, hotels, apartments, etc. Those that live indoors and out, or may be indoors occasionally, are peridomestic. The main peridomestic species in our area are the Oriental, Australian, Smokey Brown and American. The large roaches many call "waterbugs" are typically either an American or Smokey Brown. They all prefer to live where there is food, warmth, and moisture. They hide in cracks and crevices, are most active at night, and prefer starchy foods. Control measures should always include removal of potential food and water sources, regular and frequent disposal of trash and clutter, and sealing around any pipe penetrations or cracks in the ceiling, walls, or floors.
Occasional Invaders
In this group, we call "occasional invaders" we find insects like millipedes, centipedes, sowbugs, pill bugs and earwigs.
These guys are typically found around the foundation of our homes living in leaf matter and organic material. Although they are not typically harmful, they do have the capabilities to be a nuisance by their presence in our environment.
Rats and Mice
At one time or another, we have all either dealt with rats, or known someone who has. Rats are common in our environment, just like squirrels, but we don't like the thought of having rats in our homes or businesses! There are 4 basic control measures when dealing with rats.
Bed Bugs
Bedbugs have feasted on sleeping humans for thousands of years. After World War II, they were eradicated from most developed nations with the use of DDT. This product was removed from the market due to some questions about it's potential hazards.
Spurred by increases in international travel, economic conditions and even hurricanes, bedbugs are becoming a problem once again and a serious one at that. The risk of encountering bedbugs increases if you spend time in places with high turnovers of night-time guests — such as hotels, hospitals, step-up facilities or assisted living facilities.
Bedbugs are reddish brown, oval and flat, about the size of an apple seed. During the day, they hide in the cracks and crevices of beds, box springs, headboards and bed frames. They will also be found in night stands, wall sockets, behind pictures and in magazines and books.
Make no mistake, eliminating bedbugs requires diligence, patience and a solid and experienced pest control company. Many may advertise this service, but few can handle it.
It's a daunting task to eliminate bedbugs from your home, but Trinity Pest Management is here to help.
